Peat moss makes soil much easier to work for 2 or 3 years. It also helps hold more water in the soil. Make sure to wet it before trying to incorporate it into your soil or you'll be working in a dust cloud. I use it in raised beds for vegetable gardening and for growing blueberries and lingonberries.
